The mom who forgets to brush her kids teeth at night eventhough my dad's a dentist. The mom who gets excited by 'tricks of the trade' like getting blood out of clothes with Hydrogen Peroxide. The mom who's laundry room is never free from clothes (clean or dirty). The mom who's highlight of the week is taking her kids to the library story time. The mom who's thought after seeing that the actual product they used on Lyric's head injury cost me $35 (but the whole visit was $300 with the self pay discount) thought to myself..."woulda been cheaper to just super glue it shut myself." The mom who cooks 1/2 my meals a week in the crock pot at the moment because it means I can 'cook' while the kids nap. The mom who pacified my kids in the bank last week with suckers eventhough we don't eat them in our house...pretty much ever. The mom who 's son uses the word 'nana' (banana) to mean all food and who's daughter's favorite food is strawberries. The mom who can't remember the last time I showered 2 days in a row. The mom who's 3 year old isn't potty trained yet. The mom who's 1 year old screamed for 20 minutes on the way home today. The mom who's quiet time is during vacuuming or showering. The mom who lets her kids help unload the silverware from the dishwasher and instead of rearranging it to the right compartments just shoves it in because there are more important things to do with my time. The mom who's kids can sing the Dora and Elmo theme songs. The mom who feeds her kids a packed breakfast in the middle of Target shopping isles. The mom creates a traffic jam in the grocery isle because I have stopped all shopping in order to get my daughter/son to calm down. The mom who's purse is more full of snacks and sippy cups then money. The mom who's backseat looks like an (un)natural disaster. The mom who shrugs her shoulders when a stranger informs her that her son is picking something up off the ground to put in his mouth. The mom who wonders if said stranger thinks I'm crazy, dumb or weird for not rushing to him and freaking out. The mom who chooses her battles. The mom who's daughter thinks it's hilarious to answer the question "What's your name?" with "Atticus" (her brother's name). The mom who is constantly chasing her son. The mom who is crazy enough to brave running multiple errands with 2 toddlers. The mom who hardly ever spends an entire day without leaving the house. The mom who's jeans get washed with pockets full of used tissues, a partially eaten granola bar and receipts. The mom who's children greet every person they meet as we walk through the store...and thinks to herself...so much for being an introvert as she is constantly asked names, ages, etc... of her 2 very social children. The mom who has sometimes wiped her kids nose with her hand. The mom who can't find a parenting book I agree with 110%. The mom who's biggest victory in the day is if we get through it without a meltdown...daughter, son or mom. The mom who blogs about these kinds of things.
I am that mom.
Or maybe
Just maybe
I'm just
A
MOM
