Thank you all who responded to my previous post and gave me questions to answer about myself. It is going to be fun to reflect and answer! I already have 15 questions and 2 other friends have told me they are still pondering on what they will ask…so I thought it would be a good idea to maybe go ahead and begin the answering process. I mean none of these questions are as simple as “what is your favorite color’…which of course isn’t really what I wanted. But that being said they’re going to take a little time to answer. (Please note that if you still want to respond to my previous post please do so! I welcome your questions!)
I am answering in no particular order…
Q: What is your favorite thing about yourself?
A: This is a really hard question for me to answer. Not because of self-esteem. But because the things I really love about myself I’m not sure I can take credit for because they are God in me…does that make sense or sound cheesy? Wisdom, strength and ability to Love. But those aren’t really things about me, myself and I…they are things that God has given me, things I am able to do because he works in and through me. My favorite thing about myself with those things out of the equation is my creativity. This is something that is actually a part of my nature and I love that I am able to create in every area of my life and I especially love it when I get to problem solve with my creativity. Examples: make a meal from very limited ingredients, make an awesome heartfelt gift for under $5, decorate my house inexpensively, reuse, renew recycle things that would be trash but I turn to treasure, etc…
Q: How many kids are you planning on having? What is your favorite thing to watch them do?
A: Honestly the easiest way to answer this at the moment is A HOUSEFUL! Originally I had a number in my head but lately God has been telling me (in many areas of my life) to quit planning and live his plan for my life…so I will just go with the flow on this one I would love to have some more of my own and I deeply desire to adopt. I mean like crazy…. almost as much as I want to be pregnant right now. I love being pregnant and being a mommy and I want to adopt children into our fun loving home. I think I have the right kind of kids for it. They love everyone. What is my favorite thing to watch my kids do? Be themselves. I hope that doesn’t sound bland but I love getting to know their personalities and letting them be. I so love who they are and watching them grow and develop and change into more of who they will be as children, teens, adults!
Q: You have read a lot this year already. What have you read.
- Death in the Garden (Elizabeth Ironside), The Poisonwood Bible (Barbara Kingsolver), The Alchemist (Paul Coehlo), Peace Like a River (Leif Enger), Love Comes Softly, Love’s Enduring Promise, and Love’s Abiding Joy (Jeanette Oke).
I am currently reading: Crazy Love (Francis Chan), Shepherding your Child’s Heart (Tedd Trip) with Where Yesterday Lives (Karen Kingsbury) and Handle with Care (Jodi Picoult) on my waiting list. I’m trying to add authors I haven’t yet read to the mix and read a wide spectrum of books. This month I’m just trying to get through 4 as it is a crazy month for me
Q: What is your favorite way to spend time with God?
A: Without time restraints! I miss the season of life of just soaking. When I was single sometimes I would just take a journal/book/Bible and sit outside and just soak in his presense. I could hear him so clearly and he would speak in such a personal way to me. That is not my life right now! I have learned to listen in the midst of movement and constant energy. And it’s still very good. But I love to just sit. Outside. Journal and Jesus.
Q: What is something you desire but have yet to do?
