Think Back...
Before your high school years...
Back to that really awkward stage of Junior Highschool! Remember those moments.
The best word is definitely awkward
But that's not my point. Somewhere in the midst of those JH years I managed to learn something. For some reason it's stayed in the back of my mind all these years. Every once in a while I bring it off the back shelf of my brain, dust it off and get to thinking...
What I learned: The second Law of thermodynamics
The 2nd Law of Thermodynmics, simply put, states that Entropy increases
Entropy: A measure of the disorder or randomness in a closed system; inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society.
so...Disorder increases; or there is an increase in the steady deterioration of a system or society.
Stick with me for a second. Don't worry my focus is not science. Believe me, this is a law of energy and physics. That is not my forte at all! But this principle... that we're tending towards disorder... has caused me to think and reflect deeply on multiple occasions. Because basically this law states, as it applies to energy, that disorder, randomness, etc exist in every system and are increasing.
It's made me toy with the idea that maybe the way things were back in the day is actually better for us (lifestyles, diet, hobbies, work ethics, etc...) It's made me think about the idea that maybe all of the advancements in technology really are more and more disorder and deterioration than actual advancements. What if we are worse off with these so called 'products of progress': tv, high tech computers and phones, internet, genetically modified foods, etc...
Maybe, just maybe it would be better to 'regress' a little ourselves and think more about living the way people back in the 'olden days" did. To have a simpler life. I often wish we could go back: To growing our own food, raising our own meat, walking often to get from here to there, writing letters, being creative, life with out TV. What if? I just wonder. Sure we can chose to live that way now...but what if that was the normal instead?
I just can't help but think...What would happen if more of us took a stand to prevent chaos? To prevent deterioration? Is is possible?
The thought is still there...and slowly but surely I'm attempting to take my life back to the basics, the real, the nitty gritty.
But then again, here I am using modern technology to make this post...Obviously I'm not there yet.
What are your thoughts?

I couldn't agree more. That's why I've told mom about a hundred times that if the world becomes too technology driven that I will go to the amish way of living. They seem like they have got a lot of what you said covered.
I can't agree highly enough! I do question our many "advancements" often and I would love to return to a time of simplicity and organic (because it was the only option, not because it was "cool").
You and I have had some of the same thoughts in recent months. How much more connected would be if we weren't so connected?
